Morgan AM manufactures a wide range of grounding rings for shafts and bearings under the AEGIS® brand name. They are used to protect the bearing assemblies of electromechanical transducers from the unwanted effects of stray currents that cause cracks, pitting corrosion and, in general, bearing damage.
Variable Frequency AC Motors.
The AEGIS® SGR series with patented Electron Transport Technology ™ technology has special conductive microfibres for the best current removal. Standard offers are designed for shafts from 7.9 to 152.9 mm in diameter; for even larger sizes and non-standard applications, rings are made to order.
The classification of models within this group is according to the design and type of installation, the range is presented in one-piece and detachable versions, universal and specialized fasteners for fixing in the engine system.
DC electric motors.
To prevent the negative effect of voltage discharge through bearings and stray current on powerful engines (more than 7.5 kW), AEGIS® SGR rings up to 225 kW are installed, for more powerful engines the PRO series is used.
Generators.
To protect these power devices, as well as for high-power DC motors, the PRO series is used, reliable grounding to extend bearing life, sizes up to 762 mm of shaft diameter, 6 conductive microfibers nearby are available. AEGIS® PROMAX for large installations with a shaft of up to 400 mm, offers high flexibility. AEGIS® PROSL with a slim, responsive design. Wind generators, AEGIS WTG ™ series, are suitable for any type of equipment.
