Replacement of ABB DCS401.0900 electric drive on the extruder with the next-generation DCS550 electric drive
The engineers replaced DCS401.0900 drive on the extruder with a new-generation DCS550-S01-0900-05. They configured the digital and analog inputs, entered the electrical parameters, connected PTC thermal protection sensors and tacho, set protection modes, and checked the resistance of the armature winding and the excitation of the electric motor while starting the equipment.

Reason for replacing the broken drive: it was not possible to restore the functionality of the previously installed DCS400 electric drive (after disassembling and troubleshooting, it was not possible to achieve stability in maintaining the speed of the electric motor. The following errors were fixed: Fault 12, Fault 16…).
